What is Blood Pressure?

During each heartbeat, blood pressure varies between a maximum (systolic) and a minimum (diastolic) pressure.The force of blood against the artery walls.High Blood Pressure (hypertension) = too much force; the heart is working too hard.

What do Blood Pressure numbers mean?

Bottom number (diastolic) = the pressure when your heart is resting. Top number (systolic) = the pressure when your heart is beating.
